The Age of Empires Online game is the online version of the Age of Empires strategy series. This game looks to actual history to formulate some of its plots, and players can choose from between Greek and Egyptian civilization at the start of the game.

One of the most prominent features of Age of Empires Online is the exceptional design. The game's art is expertly animated and high quality. However, the fact that so much effort has been put into art and design in the game can sometimes detract from serious tone of the game.

In Age of Empires Online, players must collect resources and manage them. Players create towns that support armies and allow the player to expand the influence of his or her civilization. Age of Empires Online is free to play. Yet those who do not invest in the premium version of the game will not be able to enjoy all the game's features.

When a player begins Age of Empires Online, the player has a capital city that continues to function even when the player is offline. A progression of the player's civilization through four different ages. Each age allows for new possibilities in technology and weapons; this is an important aspect of the game.
